Grade 3A- Royal Botanical Garden Excursion
We are currently studying 'History Celebrations, Community and Remembrance' as part of our Integrated Studies Unit. We visited The Royal Botanical Gardens to learn about the culture, religion and lifestyle of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
Students were well engaged and we did fun activities such as making and using ochre paint and string-making (students made their own bracelets). Students learned about the tools Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders used to hunt, to gather materials and making things. They used tools such as digging sticks, eel trap, wooden bowl, grinding stone and many more.
We all enjoyed the beautiful weather and we all had a great day.
